An excellent Star Wars short story. a MUST READ for fans of The Clone Wars!!!

This was my favorite of these 4 short stories. Ever since I first saw the Crimson Corsair in the Vanity Fair spread, I thought he looked cool. I wanted to know more about him. This story follows him and his crew in a race across a desert planet against other pirates searching for a lost treasure. Captain Sidon Ithano, as he is also known, is an awesome character. There's a toy coming out of him and his first mate that I think will be one of the few The Force Awakens figures I actually buy.

This story has it all. Like a lot of the new canon, it takes inspiration from all the Star Wars films and tv shows. It even starts with a Hondo quote! Fans of The Clone Wars tv series MUST read this!

I found myself using wookiepedia to get accurate ideas of what the characters looked like. The Ortolan pirate known as One-Eye is such a cool image.

The chapters are very small, which made it very easy to read. This story is full of adventure as well as comedy. I love when Star Wars stories make allusions to classic lines and such in creative ways. I never had a bad feeling about this book while I was reading it.

I give this short story a 5/5. I want more! I am so much more intrigued by the character of the Crimson Corsair. I want to follow his crew on many more adventures. I really hope Landry gets to continue writing their stories.

This short story was truly a joy to read. It's exactly the kind of fun, rich, exhilarating Star Wars story that works really well just weeks before the release of a new film. It succeeds in getting the reader invested in the characters sure to roam the halls of Maz Kanata's castle, provoking the imagination in just the right way. It's a pirate story, a treasure hunt story, and a high-speed chase story all within the framework of Star Wars. What's not to like? It's worth the read, the re-read, and the handoff to a friend.

A really fun Star Wars short story. The Crimson Corsair as a bad ass and he, along with at least one of his crew members, will be in the upcoming film; and by the looks of it, the Captain looks to be somewhat of a significant character. Therefore, I would read this solely just to become somewhat acclimated to a small part of the new movie. Also, if you're a fan of the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" TV series, there's a nice little treat for you within. Great read!

Great source for beginners

I've been playing chess for a while, but never seriously. Recently I started to play on chess.com and was willing to improve a little bit my skills, and this book totally filled the gaps I had on this openning. It is not the ultimate book for advanced players, it is for begginers and casual players, like me, and I tottaly recommend it.

I was disappointed to find out that this edition did not allow ...

I was disappointed to find out that this edition did not allow me to use the online resources. I ordered it for that exact reason, but gave it two stars because the price was so cheap and they shipped on time. So if you aren't interested in the extra resources, this is a great deal. Especially since we are nursing students with loans piling up. But if you do want them, you are going to have to pay extra on top of the book, which would make it cheaper to buy it direct. The actual book was very general and lacked details, so I used a mental health success book congruently during my class and passed my Hesi with that book. Hope this helps and Good luck with your studies..

Chock-Full of Freudian Psychobabble

The eBook does not include the "Davis PLUS" code, as others had mentioned.

The reason this book ranks so low is that it is garbage. It consistently uses outdated terms and very confusing language to describe relatively straightforward concepts, as well as incorporating a large amount of research derived from Freudian Psychotherapy, a practice that up until this point was roundly rejected in every other psychology class that I've ever taken. For example, this is the explanation of the psychological factors associated with alcoholism and substance abuse:
The psychodynamic approach to the etiology of substance abuse focuses on a punitive superego and fixation at the oral stage of psychosexual development (Sadock & Sadock, 2007). Individuals with punitive superegos turn to alcohol to diminish unconscious anxiety and increase feelings of power and self-worth. Sadock and Sadock (2007) state, “As a form of self-medication, alcohol may be used to control panic, opioids to diminish anger, and amphetamines to alleviate depression” (p. 386)
